2018: On September 13, TASCHEN Store Beverly Hills hosted photographer Bruce W. Talamon for a signing of his new collection: Soul, R&B, Funk. Photographs 1972–1982.
Soulful and funky music played as a crowd of bookworms shared in this celebration of the 1970s music explosion. With his unique eye and all-access pass, Talamon captured all of the glamour and the groove of this bygone era, now gathered in one electrifying volume of unseen images.
The event saw legends like Verdine White from Earth, Wind & Fire, director John Singleton (of Boyz n the Hood), and Regina Jones from Soul Newspaper hanging out with Bruce—who also took the time to personalize copies of both his XL-sized collection and the XXL-sized Art Edition.
